Here are a set of tips that I recommend you follow if you want to be a successful entrepreneur.

1. Stop Browsing the Internet Aimlessly!

The beauty of the internet and technology is that we can find anything in the world we want, whenever we want.

I have a number of friends who had the entrepreneurial spirit, but did not have the entrepreneur determination and drive to stay focused and be productive enough to maintain a business. Here are a set of tips that I recommend you follow if you want to be a successful entrepreneur.

1. Stop Browsing the Internet Aimlessly!

The beauty of the internet and technology is that we can find anything in the world we want, whenever we want. This is great when we need to get information in a hurry to pitch an offer or close a sale. We need to know what our competitors are doing. However, it is very easy to be sucked into the wireless web and get lost for hours.

The fact remains that Internet marketing does require time online. This time needs to be used for checking out the competition and looking for ways to not only build your online business but improve the efficiency of your business. This should include networking on different sites that pertain to your business model. Responding to posts on blogs and forums that are related to your niche and or product. I easily spend a good hour or two doing this each day.

2. Invest in Time-Saving Tools and Resources

You are in business for yourself. Which means the success of your business depends completely on your work ethic and skills. This doesn’t mean that you have to do everything yourself. The key to productivity is to use tools that are going to help you do the same work in half the time. There are a number of products on the market that will help you do parts of your job in half the time. Just to name a few – RoboForm, Article Marketer, and TicketDesk Pro are products and services I use everyday to help maintain and grow my online business, while saving me a significant amount of time. I use this extra time to work on other marketing aspects of my online business.

3. Create A Schedule and Stick To It

I don’t live and die by my schedule but I do keep one because it helps me stay on track. My schedule may not be the most ideal schedule for you, so take a moment or two and create one that is going to meet your lifestyle and fulfill your business requirements. If your work day doesn’t start until 3pm and lasts until 10pm you need to make sure those 7 hours are productive. Make a “To Do List” for your day.

4. Outsource As Much As You Can

Believe it or not there are a lot of people out there that will help you do your job more efficiently than what you can do yourself. This is where outsourcing comes into play. If you need content for your site or product, instead of spending the time writing the article yourself, outsource to a writer.

5. Joint Venture with a Trusted Person

This could be one of the most lucrative tips out there. I say this because you have to know that while you may be good at one aspect of your business there are other aspects that you could use help. Consider undertaking a joint venture, but just make sure you can trust the person you are partnering with. For example, if I wanted to take my knowledge of Internet marketing and create an eCourse, I may enter into a joint venture with a writer who can put together a killer eCourse using my extensive knowledge and we would share the profit.

6. Break the Email Habit

Do what I do, check your email once in the morning and once at the end of the day. Email is a wonderful luxury and a necessary evil. Marketing requires you to be available to your marketing world 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This does not mean that you spend 7 hours going through your email. It isn’t going anywhere, and if there is something that is earth shatteringly urgent you may get a phone call. Most emails can wait a few hours to respond to.

7. Automate as Much as You Can

Take advantages of pinging services, RSS feeds, autoresponders and email providers that combine multiple accounts such as Google or Outlook so that you are still sending out updates, checking emails and taking care of other menial tasks that need to be handled, but can be done through an automated service. This gives you time to tackle other projects.

I cannot make you more productive. I can only provide you with tools and tips that will help you take your business to the next level. If you decide to step up to the plate and use the seven tips I have provided, you will find that you will be more productive and your business will be more lucrative. To end it with a quote:

Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort. Paul J. Meyer

So, without further ado – here are my top 20 inspirational quotes:

Never consider the possibility of failure. As long as you persist, you will be successful. – Brian Tracy

To succeed, you need to take that gut feeling in what you believe and act on it with all of your heart. – Christy Borgeld

You don’t have to get it right; you just have to get it going. – Mike Litman

It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! – Rocky Balboa

For every problem you ever come across, sit down and brainstorm 10 different solutions. – Brian Tracy

I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work. – Thomas A. Edison

Keep the faith and just keep moving forward. Always remember, the more action you take, the more money you will make. The money will come, it’s almost impossible for it not to. You just have to keep working hard… – John Reese

The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. – Chinese Proverb

Sometimes if you want to see a change for the better, you have to take things into your own hands. – Clint Eastwood

When you engage in systematic, purposeful action, using and stretching your abilities to the maximum, you cannot help but feel positive and confident about yourself. – Brian Tracy

I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward. – Thomas A. Edison

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. – Henry Ford

Perfection does not exist – you can always do better and you can always grow. – Les Brown

He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else. – Benjamin Franklin

Better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly. – Robert H. Schuller

Do, or do not. There is no ‘try’. – Yoda

Bonus Funny Quote:

Here’s something to think about: How come you never see a headline like ‘Psychic Wins Lottery’? – Jay Leno

Inspired yet? Well, I truly hope these quotes will help lift your spirits, restore your confidence and fire up your creative energy.

Save time? Sounds impossible, doesn’t it? Well, strictly speaking, yes – however, there are ways to make it seem like you have more hours in your day by maximizing your productivity. Read on for some tips:

1) Organize! The time you spend looking for things which are misplaced is simply put, wasted. Use job lists, calendars and time management tools including software. Don’t overuse these though; you can end up wasting more time than you save. Find a balance which saves you time.

2) Multitask when possible. If you have chores and errands to get done and calls to make, you can use a headset for your phone and tackle both at the same time.

3) Ditch that TV! “American children and adolescents spend 22 to 28 hours per week viewing television, more than any other activity except sleeping. By the age of 70 they will have spent 7 to 10 years of their lives watching TV.” — The Kaiser Family Foundation. That’s right, a lot of people spend an entire day out of their week watching TV; just think of all the things you could do in that time!

4) Try to avoid wasting time online. The web can be as bad as TV when it comes to sapping productivity. Instead, set certain times for web browsing outside of times when you need to be productive. This will free up a lot more time than you may realize; try it out, you’ll be amazed.

5) Ask for help. Get a little assistance from family, partners and the others around you. You can, for instance, take a day (Sunday is a good day as any for it) to make meals ahead of time and freeze them. This way, you’ll save at least an hour every evening! Just take it out of the freezer and put it in the oven; you can even get other tasks done while it heats!

6) Get up half an hour earlier or go to bed half an hour later. Use this extra half an hour to organize and plan for the day.

7) Prioritize. When tasks don’t lend themselves to multitasking and can be handled more effectively on their own, prioritize these tasks and knock them out one by one. Make a list if necessary and remember to keep time sensitive items at the top of your list.

8) Simplify. You can save the time spent ironing by having your clothes dry cleaned instead. Rather than go to the gym, why not simply jog around your neighborhood instead? You can have cereal at breakfast rather than cooking every morning; also, set your coffee maker on a timer to make coffee when you wake up instead of waiting in line at a coffee shop. These time-saving tips can also save you money. Come up with recipes and grocery shop for the necessary ingredients; this means you’ll need to go shopping less and can mean less spent on groceries as well.

9) Don’t sweat housework so much. Really, your home doesn’t have to be gleaming at all times. Keeping a routine cleaning schedule and being organized will go a long way towards keeping things clean. If it’s within your means, hire a maid rather than spend time on these duties.

10) Don’t forget to set aside some personal time. All work and no play leads to procrastination. Schedule days off or set aside time for activities that you enjoy. You’ll be more relaxed and far more efficient when you are working.

So what will you do with all of your extra new free time? Take more time for family, hobbies, even more work!

Do you have any time-saving tips? Please feel free to post them here on my blog.
