Reasons Why People Fail to Make Money through Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing FailureYes, the Internet can present an opportunity for you to make money, but making millions is not going to happen overnight. Please don’t tell me you’re going to get rich quick on the Internet because the last thing I would like to hear, is that you were conned and lost everything.

In most cases, it’s the “get rich quick” dreamers who find themselves getting scammed and obviously once this has happened a few times, they give up. This is the biggest reason why people fail to make money through affiliate marketing.

Just like any other business, affiliate marketing also requires you to do research, to study, to work hard and to learn the tricks of the trade.

For some obscure reason, so many people tend to think that doing business from their computer is different to doing regular business and to be honest, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Of course it’s worth the effort or else others wouldn’t be doing it. Firstly, you can start with very little money unlike a regular business. Secondly, you don’t have to spend as much time working as you would in a regular business and thirdly, you can make handsome profits in just a short space of time.

Okay, so this sounds really good but be warned, hard work and dedication are part of the price tag. While it’s not necessary to sign-up for any specific courses or to invest large amounts of money, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the concept of affiliate marketing. You also need to be prepared and willing to go through the inevitable learning process.

Most people who fail to make money from affiliate marketing fail because they are misled by dishonest marketing ploys and dubious sales pitches. Promises of showing you how to become rich overnight in many cases simply scare people away before they have even really discovered what is necessary, and that is, you require knowledge and you require understanding with regards to affiliate marketing.

Just as I hinted earlier in this article, many people believe that affiliate marketing is different to other regular businesses and that in order to make money, they won’t be required to work very hard, or even learn anything.

One of the worse case scenarios I come across is where people end up joining various schemes, for which they have to pay, in return for guaranteed success. They hang on in quite desperation until such a time that they realize it’s just not going to happen but by then it’s often too late. Either they have spent all their money or else they’ve simply lost confidence.

The Internet is rife with scams and con artists so unless you just want to become just another statistical reminder, avoid anything that sounds too easy. Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. There is no reason why you should fail to make money through affiliate marketing, so long as you start out right. Dedicate yourself to learning what it’s all about so you can be armed with good meaningful knowledge.

Absolutely right. If something looks too good to be true, then it is too good to be true!
Yes people will give you ebooks free but you have to give them your name and email, and they will email you! Of course you can opt out at any time. If you like their free book then fine, you will get more information out of them, and sometimes they may recommend something that they will make money from.
But, if you wanted to buy it yourself then it would cost as much, so they may as well have their cut!

Never believe you can make millions without any work. As is said above, learn learn learn first of all. Then offer great value. You will make money in the longer term.

Best wishes,

Ruth Stewart

Timely post. I recently posted an article on eZine@rticles on this very subject. Fact of the matter is, too many so called “gurus” peddle to much U-Know-What for the new IMer to be able to separate the Chafe from the Wheat (or) the BS from the Steak. Betting on a 1 trick pony (flavor of the day) can be a disaster.
I like what the guys at SEO 2020 are doing, nice SYSTEM approach.
