Top 4 Ways to Make Money Online with Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing Add Comments
Undeniably, affiliate marketing is perhaps the easiest way to get started with regards to an online business, considering that there are such a vast amount of different opportunities.
As you more than likely already know, an affiliate marketer is essentially someone who promotes another person’s product or service in return for a commission. As such, you don’t need any capital outlay, and neither do you need your own product. In fact, contrary to what some may have told you, you don’t even need to have your own website.
Bum Marketing
This could consist of either article marketing or Web 2.0, both of which are often referred to as bum marketing simply because they involve free methods of generating an income. Essentially, you write articles and then you submit them to various free article directories. The beauty of this is, you can include your affiliate advertisement on those sites. While there are many such sites, Ezinearticles.com is perhaps the best known one. Of course, when you write an article and you submit it to the site, you are entitled to include a link at the end, in what is known as a “resource box.”
Review Sites
As many affiliate marketers can attest to, review sites have been enjoying increasing popularity in recent times. They are in fact a great opportunity to make money with affiliate products simply because there are so many people who like to read reviews regarding a certain product before they go ahead and purchase that product. For example, you may want to have a site which reviews different types or brands of coffee pots or coffee makers. In that case you would need to write reviews relating to the types of products you’re promoting, but you need to bear in mind that you want to portray yourself as being impartial and as such, you will need to give certain products a poor review, while giving others an average one and others a strong one. You also need to avoid giving the most expensive product the best review. If you do that, there’s a good chance that any potential customers may become suspicious.
Blogging
One of the most popular affiliate marketing model nowadays is blogging. For those who don’t know, you can start blogging for free using a solution such as WordPress.com, although I don’t personally recommend this if you do have even a minimal amount of money to invest in a domain and web hosting. It is however a good option for those who simply have no money at all. If you do have just a little money then I would recommend you use the “.org” version of WordPress instead.
Another interesting feature about blogging is that it requires you to have at least a moderate amount of skill with regards to writing. The reason for this being, you will need to post to your blog on a regular basis, which in my opinion should be no less than once per week. You should also bear in mind that all the major search engines including Google, are attracted by fresh content, and if you’re offering fresh content on a regular basis, you’ll receive a higher page ranking. By submitting regular posts, you will also help to ensure that your blog remains fresh. If you simply have no writing skills at all then I’m afraid that blogging might not be the ideal choice for you.
PPC Marketing
PPC, which stands for “pay-per-click” marketing, is an amazing way to generate an income with affiliate products, although it does take a lot of planning and a considerable amount of practice. In fact, it’s not uncommon for people to loose money in the beginning while they learn how to go about setting up a successful campaign.
PPC usually does require a relatively large investment, and even though you’re not usually required to pay in advance, you will have to settle your bill at the end of each month. Of course if you don’t pay, your advertisements will simply be suspended, not to mention the fact that you could lose your account and end up being banned for life. The problem arises because the vast majority of affiliate marketing companies fail to pay you in time so that you in turn can pay for your PPC. Remember, a lot of affiliate merchants make payments to their affiliates on a monthly or quarterly basis and on top of that, you have to allow for the time it takes for checks to clear. Additionally, if you decide you want to spend a large amount of money, you may often then be required to pay in advance. For example, if you all of a sudden ran up $1000 worth of clicks at Google AdWords, there’s a strong possibility that they may put a temporary hold on your account until such time you settle your bill. Because it’s so easy to run up a large bill in such a short space of time, there is always a possibility that you’ll end up owing a huge amount of money long before you even see your affiliate checks arrive.
